Byrd's Nest Crags

Byrd's Nest Crags

Seen from an open slab along the Saddle Trail shortly past the first set of rock steps. You can bushwhack and scramble to the crags from a switchback near the base, but it is easier to go a little more up the trail and access the crags from Byrd's Nest Shelter. Looks a lot better in Orig; Large is not so good due to cropping. Old Rag Mountain; Shenandoah N.P. VA-- April 2009

Please excuse me ...

Let me wipe the "trail dust" off my crystal
ball.

I see a vision ... the vision tells me that
this photo of "Byrd's Nest Crags" will
soon become 'POTD' material.

If it had a butterfly in it, it would be a
"shoe-in." : ))))

Re: Please excuse me ...

Well, I went back out today with the wife and kids and got some good wildflower shots. If I photoshop one on and add a butterfly (there were several about today, it was nice to see, as they were the first I've seen this year), I could own POTW itself, perhaps for months.

And hail to the Crimson King! Was it a hard journey across Thunderclap?

Re: Please excuse me ...

Are you referring to "Thunderclap Newman,"
the one-hit wonder band from the UK ???

At my age, it's always a hard journey ... but,
it's the journey rather than the destination
that counts !!!
