First attempt Cactus Flower Tower Peak
Amazing climb up the beautiful oak creek canyon, route is pretty well cairned and the 5.3 pitch is extremely fun. Recommend this to any strong hikers that like to push their limits!

Accidental solo
Accidentally soloed Cactus Flower tower in 1981. There's a crack on the right side of the west face at the end of Oak creek across (North) from Cleaver crack. I had climbed up to check-out trees high on the canyon wall and when I turned around I realized I couldn't climb back down. I spotted the "crack" alongside the right of Cactus Flower and climbed into it. I got stuck a little way through... yelling at the top of my lungs for rescue while looking back into Oak creek and east towards Vegas........ NO ONE COULD HAVE FOUND OR RESCUED ME!......... after getting my boot unstuck I managed to climb/slide down numerous ramps and back-press descended/ fall on a few walls and used saplings/small trees to lower myself down the east side and then scrambled down to arrive on the south side of Wilson's pimple, Potato Knoll. When my friends who had tried to hike up Cactus Flower and backed-off met back up with me they laughed ....... I had worn holes all the way through my levis in the butt area from sliding down ramps, etc.

Finally -- no snow this time
This is one route where body type influences what is easy vs hard. The crux seemed relatively easy to me (especially on way down), but there were a lot of blind corners where a 5'6" frame made it a bit harder. Big thanks to Jim E for leading, and to my co-conspirators Barb S and Mike B. If I did this solo, I would leave a few more slings, and bring 100-120' rope (or 15mm webbing).
