Nice trip like that spot

There is a trail up to the crest of Blackerby Ridge from a street in Juneau. The trail then continues to the top of Cairn Peak. I have spent three months living at the glacier camp Camp 17, and you had better than normal weather. Did you summit Observation Peak. This is an awesome ski. How is the snowpack this year.

Re: Nice trip like that spot

Didn't climb Observation Peak. Haven't been back for several years so don't know what snow was like this year. Your website has some wonderful photos and maps of Juneau Icefield glaciers. Congratulations on having such an enduring career in glaciology research.

good stuff

agreed, that is better than normal weather. I staffed the JIRP program last year (owns C-17) and we had 2mo straight of pea soup. Nice pics, can't wait for this seasons snow!
