The enviromentally preferred route for Oberlin avoids the obvious scree field and follows a cairn marked ridge route with some class 3 moves. This view shows one of the easy to follow cairns, lichens, and boulders waiting ahead to test the climber. On this day in Aug. 2007 many other family groups with children were gaining the summit by the easier scree field route. Use the ridge, not the scree field!
