Calf Creek for Creaky Knee
Tested my cranky knee on the Lower Falls trail. I thought it would be 'touristy', but I was instead blown away by the beautiful canyon and its spectacular finish. And my knee felt great!

Calf Creek
June 13 2020
Justin, Kimberly, and I hiked to Upper Calf Creek Falls. Justin and Kimberly hadn't been there before. After visiting the area and pools above the falls, we visited the area and pools below the falls, taking a few cold swims in the deep pool.
We then explored down canyon including to some alcoves. The hike down canyon is very scenic and very green. Most of it is walking on slickrock under the water. We didn't quite make it to Lower Calf Creek Falls before running out of time.
It was a great hike, but Justin got some big blisters.

An Oasis in the Escalante
Amazing place! Falls looks like something tropical. Calf Creek - super cold and holding some trout. When you drive through this country you don't see much water-good place to get your water fix!

Worth Every Step
Few places make can really make you feel like you are in a National Geographic special, or in a Hollywood film, but Calf Creek Falls is one of those surreal places. It can be hot in the summer, and the swim at the end is quite frigid, it makes you long for the hot walk back. I have done this many times and it never ceases to amaze! Remember to look for the petroglyphs halfway up on the east side of the canyon. There is a number marker to mark which they are.

Great Falls
Went to both Upper and Lower Calf Creek Falls. There is a pretty cool or should I say cold? swimming/divng hole just above Upper Calf Creek Falls. Water is freezing, a great way to spend an afternoon!

great falls!
Fun short hike to a great waterfall. Had plans to rappel it but ran short on time.
This is a very nice easy hike. The falls are incredible, and the Fremont Indian graineries and pictographs are nice side atractions in this canyon.

beautiful!!
I've hiked to the lower falls twice. First time, jumped in the cold water, and immediately turned purple. More recently, did a 28-mile bike ride along Route 12 across Calf Creek Canyon and then hiked to the upper falls and skinny-dipped in the pool. Both falls are extremely gorgeous, and the entire canyon is very pretty.

Between the fallsOne of the Hidden gems is the area between the falls, great pools and isolation for not to much effort.

Very Pretty-cold, cold water, even on a hot summer day. The falls are really nice. We spotted several deer along the trail.
