Re: Concretelol, the concrete is a little eroded there, huh? From the salt & freeze-thaw action?

Pretty muchimagine 35 ton slabs on concrete dropping on a normally bumper to bumper 'speed'way.
Half the bridge lanes are closed for safety reasons...

Re: Pretty muchLike these?
If you look closely you can still see the axle of the truck that brought the bridge down.

Re: Pretty muchfunny how my comment & image are cut off.
What I meant to say was if you look closely you can still see the axle of the truck that brought the interchange bridge down. This was a memorable photography day for me.

Montreal is falling downhttp://www.google.ca/search?q=ville+marie+slab+fell
2 of our main bridges (1 the busiest in Canada!) are falling apart and are half closed for emergency repairs.

Profile picAppropriate gear for a structural engineer. Nice line of work.
Interesting pic of the bridge. A lot more such problems around - the use of non-galvanised reebar, combined with the use of road salt in winter. Such a dumb ass combination and even dumber authorities that don't plan.
