Camas (Camassia quamash)

Camas is often abundant in wet meadows from B.C. south to California and east through the northern Rocky Mountains. Blooms can be spectacular, making meadows solid blue, appearing from a distance to be a lake. Cama was an important staple that sustained native Americans and still has cultural use for them.
