camping/red tape

Franconia Notch is a state park, there is no camping allowed (except at Lafayette Campground) within its boundaries (ie, the eastern slopes of Kinsman through Cannon). Most of Moosilauke is owned/managed by Dartmouth, they don't allow camping either.

good stuff

This is impressive for someone who lives nowhere near NH. Great job.

BTW, your quote at the bottom there is by Edward Whymper, British alpinist who made the FA of the Matterhorn in 1865. It's always been one of my favorite quotes.
