From glaciers?Judging from the color of the water, it looks like this river has its source in mountain glaciers. Is that true?

Re: From glaciers? No, it doesn't, it has a limestones which contains mainly calcium, that's why the water is green. And glaciers formed the lakes on the mountain Durmitor, such as: Crno jezero, Skrcka lakes, Barno... Other name for these lakes is mountain eyes.

Re: From glaciers? Are you sure it depends from calcium? As far as I know calcium iones aren't chromophores (colour carriers)...

Re: From glaciers? No, they are not chromophores. But the color of the water depends of the structure of the stone and rocks in the water. And I know that the rocks in this area are consist of limestones.
The same thing is with many rivers in Bosnia, they have an emerald green color of the water.
The mixture of the flora, rocks, daylight and water gives this kind of the color.
"Crystal clear waters of Tara, which have light blue and green color, made its canyon in rough limestone mountains even before the Ice Age. Water has carbon dioxide in it which turns calcium carbonate into calcium bicarbonate that dissolves in water." 9taken from http://www.summitpost.org/canyon/172727/tara-canyon.html)

...Very unique and interesting! As Jack said, the b&w contrasting with the green is really a really cool "effect".
