Canyon Wren

Canyon Wren (Catherpes mexicanus) spotted en route to Black Mountain in the River Mountains, Nevada. May 2008. Canyon Wrens can be found throughout the arid mountain country and canyonlands of western North America. Their song is long, beautiful and very distinctive.

Awesome !!

We have these living right outside
of Payson, Arizona. I heard one
the other day when I was observing
some rock formations east of town.
There's another called the cactus
wren, which is AZ's state bird.

I posted the two orchid photos. My
wife is still checking as to what
species they are. She took them at
night with flash. They're the ones
that grow on tree trucks & tree
branches in the rain forest.
