Back to where it all started  Sucess!

This was my first solo hike in 2013 and in the state. In the last three years I've climbed around 40 or so mountains, but I wanted to come back to the mountain that started it all for me (and also because there was 10 feet of snow everywhere last time).

I'm moving out of state this week and I've really enjoyed my time hiking the southern part of the state. Between the seemingly endless amounts of driving, scree fields, downfall, stream crossings, trail finding, cuts and bruises, sunburns, and scrambles I can without a doubt say I'm gonna miss this place. I hope I find myself living here again someday. Keep bagging those mountains for me. With great reluctance, I'm out.

Too bad the skies were hazy from wildfires, because the 360 views from the ridge and summit and incredible. Hiked as through hike from Cape Horn summit TH to Lola Creek TH.

Quick hike  Sucess!

Lower trail goes through a burned out area. My wife was surprised by a bear while she was waiting for me at the saddle

About a ten mile hike  Sucess!

Dennis Poulin and I really enjoyed this hike. Not many people seem to be aware of this one due to all the great hikes in the nearby Sawtooth area.
