Cascade Glacier, AK

The Cascade Glacier, one of three massive tidewater glaciers who call the head of Barry Arm home, tumbles down into the Barry Arm in Prince William Sound, AK offering me and my kayaking buddy Erik an impressive sight. While beached (well, rocked maybe as there was no sand for miles) for lunch we witnessed a huge calving event. Estimating the height of the glacier wall at just under 500 feet, we figured the calf was about 350 feet. Very cool. August 2005. Fuji Velvia 100F.
