Catskills

Catskills

Typical Catskill trail. Rocky, rooty and sometimes scrambly! Taken on the Wittenberg-Cornell-Slide Trail on the way up Wittenberg.

catskills trail

NOT typical. Though, this picture is typical of the Burroughs trail (AKA Wittenberg/Slide trail), which has several sections of near vertical climbing until you get to the top of Slide Mtn. The trail from the top of Slide to Slide Mtn trail head on CR47 is for the most part an old carraige road. I believe that trail head is closed until the road (CR 47) is repaired. Check out the NYS DOT website for updates, or Views From the Top.
