Title  Sucess!

Climbed both the middle and north summit today with Petter Bjorstad.

Christmas Day summit  Sucess!

We cycled to the base of this mountain, dumped our bikes then spent 2 1/2 days climbing it then walking back to the road. Coming from Antofagasta as we did we had no views of the mountain until we were high up on it, and though you can see it from the road when you approach from the south it was cloudy when we passed so no views of it then either - hence the reason for the lack of photos of the peak on the page!
Not one of our favourite mountains in the Andes - with no snow on it this is just a walk up a sandy/scree/rocky mound which we didn't find particularly interesting. The views from the top may be good but we didn't see much because of cloud. On the plus side so few people climb Laguna Blanca that you will almost certainly have it all to yourself...
