Overview
Cerro Montañita de Santa Maria is located at north from Nicaragua. State of Nueva Segovia. Just in middle of Ocotal and Totogalpa towns.Is an elevation standing high above the surrounding area with small summit area, steep slopes and local relief of aprox 300mts.
No trails to the top, totally cover with vegetation and coffe's plantations.

Take a bus or drive from Ocota to Totogalpa. Aks to the bus drivers how to climb the mountain. He leaves you in the only dirt road to the left hand path. Start to walk a couple of kilometers. finally you will find some small houses. they are owners of the mountains ask for a guide, they will made it cheaper and fast. Guide is necesary cause is a private area and no trails at all.
