Matterhorn West face

This is one of very few Matterhorn's pics ( among hundreds!) of the West wall: even if the quality isn't so goog, the phto gives you an interesting complete view of Zmutt Ridge.

For that reason I give 4 stars.

Re: Matterhorn West face

Sella was the Galen Rowell or Ansel Adams of his day. The Duke of Abruzzi took him on the Karakorum trip up to the base of K2. It was Sella who got the pix of the "Abruzzi Ridge." Messner used Sella's Panoramas to illustrate part of his "Challenge" book.

Sella went to Mt. Saint Elias his name is attached to one of the big Alaska-Yukon Ice Sheets. Photos of Ruwnezori (Uganda too).
