Route Climbed: From Dollar Lake via Saddle Date Climbed: July 30, 2000
Went from our camp by Dollar Lake and took a route that included some fun 3d class rock. I remember a great view of the "Running Deer" at about the 10,000 foot level on that mountain to the north. After summitting Charlton, we headed down the mountain in a southeast direction to the saddle between Charlton and Little Charlton. Little Charlton was virtually just a few minutes away.
Route Climbed: South Fork Trail via Dollar Lake Saddle Date Climbed: November 12, 2005
The trail was clear except for patches of snow and ice up to Dollar Lake Saddle. Then we had to put on our crampons. Actually, our objective had been San Gorgonio, but when we realized getting there would mean a descent down an icy slope in the dark, we settled for Charlton. It was a worthy second choice. As it was, we spent an hour or so in the dark on the return to the trailhead but at least then we were on a clear trail.
Route Climbed: Ridge from Jepson to Dollar Lake Saddle Date Climbed: Sep 5, 2004
One of the less memorable bumps encountered between San Gorgonio and San Bernardino during a Nine Peaks dayhike with Glenn. Followed the crest of the broad ridge from Jepson over Little Charlton and Charlton to Dollar Lake Saddle.
