In the snow  Sucess!

Trail was well packed. Snowy and windy day, but it only hits you up on the summit. Nice and quick bit of exercise and acclimatization if you just got in town.

Chief  Sucess!

This is a quick hike, but there is a nice bolder patch at the summit where you can sit and get great looks of the surrounding valleys and Mt. Evans. The drive up is a good way to view the changing colors of the aspens.

Chief Mountain Trail  Sucess!

Hiked up the Chief Mountain Trail with Maria. Plenty of hikers on the trail. It's been unseasonably warm this November, so people were taking advantage of the weather. We could see a fire burning to the north: big flames, but it didn't seem to spread. We decided to climb up Papoose on the way back.

Chief Mountain Trail  Sucess!

Showshoe with Maria. There was plenty of snow, though it was thinner above treeline, thanks to the wind. We had light snow for most of the hike, and it was a little breezy above treeline. We tried going for Papoose on the way back, but snow on the rocks made footing difficult. Maybe some other time.

Chief Mountain Trail  Sucess!

CMC Trip. There were 4 of us. The original plan was to hike up Goliath Peak, but there was some S&R activity going on up there, so the trip was shifted to Mt Sniktau, but the weather was not supposed to cooperate, so we settled for the Chief Group. The weather was actually pretty good, almost too warm below treeline, and a little windy above. Still a fair amount of snow on the ground, but snowshoes were not absolutely necessary. We tagged Chief, then headed over to Papoose.
