Chimney Rock and Falls

From the city of Lake Lure you can see Chimney Rock and the falls (far right) where the final scenes from Mann's THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS was shot. Formerly privately owned, it's now part of the developing Hickory Nut Gorge State Park. But the main sections are still being run as before--like a privately owned amusement park.

Amazing shot!

Great picture!
I've only seen the mountain from the other side. Where was this taken from?

This was taken from, weirdly enough, downtown Lake Lure. I think I was standing just above the river behind a shop of some sort.

Thanks! We were there a few years ago and missed this view entirely (Last of the Mohicans is one of favorites BTW).
