Re: Chinese Wall

I've heard many time the incorrect 22 mile length of the Chinese Wall. not sure how they get that length.

Many people confuse the Chinese Wall and the North Wall, the two together might be 22 miles long. But they are not continuous and not of the same geologic formation. At the same time they are fairly similar.

The North Wall in the Bob extends from about Switchback Pass south to the Red Shale Meadows.

The Chinese Wall in the Bob extends from Larch Hill Pass south to White River Pass.

Chinese Wall

Nope. 12 miles from White River Pass to Larch Hill Pass.

The North Wall, similar geologically but not connected to the Chinese Wall and not on the Continental Divide, is 10 miles long. Perhaps you were thinking of the 2 features together.

22Miles

All the references I found state the Chinese Wall is 22 miles long. That is quite a discrepancy.
