It was a jarring experience for us sto step into these tunnels, because some of our great-grand fathers fought here for the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy against Italy, in terrible conditions! The famous Isonzo front line leaded trough these mountain ranges. The bloddiest battles of WW I. had been fought here! If you're a bit eagle-eyed can find interesting things inside these fortifications: cartridge cases, helmets, barbed wires, pieces of cannons, old cans, etc
