CITADEL PEAKS OVER WATERTON LAKE-GLACIER NATIONAL PARK-MT

CITADEL PEAKS (8003') is one of the most visable, as well as unusual, peaks that can be seen from virtually any point on Waterton Lake. The peak, as well as Porcupine Ridge, dominate the lower right hand side of the lake (looking South). Incidentally, a rather strenuous hike can be made from Goat Haunt. Hike four(4) miles south on the Waterton Valley trail to the righthand cutoff to Porcupine Lookout. I have been told that the trail has been re-opened and has a great payoff, insofar as the view from the top is unbelievable. Unfortunately, the hike to the Lookout is a HARD CLIMB.
