Cleaning the Route

Since the ice was brittle, and not low enough to get onto easily, I stopped at the third bolt before the short section begins where you need to place gear on this amazing M7 called 'Free Strike Zone'. I'm really excited to come back later this season for a redpoint. The ice dagger to the right is part of the infamous M9 called 'Blade Runner'. Loch Vale, RMNP, CO. 12-02-07. Killer Shot

Really great perspective. How quickly does this dull the crampon points?

Re: Killer Shot

Thanks! Actually, not that much. You are supposed to place crampon points as precisely as foot placements while wearing rock shoes. Of course there is a little scratching of the point, but nothing that a file and 5min cannot fix. Having vertically oriented mono-points also helps in precise placement. I highly recomend trying mixed! Thanks for the comment.

Re: great shot

Thanks! I am really lucky in that there is always someone there to document my adventures and fill my narcisistic needs! ;) Helps get my psyced to climb harder as well. Thanks for the comment, hope all is well.
