"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Date Climbed: April 9th, 2004Good winter challenge. The temps were in the 40's so it made for slushy snow; hard to get a grip in, even with snowshoes. But, it was all-in-all a good time; certainly didn't think it was deserving of a "wouldn't bring my worst enemy here" comment, but to each his own I guess.

Route Climbed: from flowed lands/livingston pond(backside) Date Climbed: 2-7-04A great winter route, with incredible views. Pretty cold though for trying to sleep in a lean-to.

Route Climbed: Herd Path from Uphill Lean-to Date Climbed: Aug 4, 2002“I wouldn’t take my worst enemy here.”—Daniel Battin, August 4, 2002
Now what could possibly cause me to utter these words? Climbing Redfield and Cliff Mtns; that’s what! These mountains had more blowdown than any other mountains that I climbed. My hip muscles even cramped up a little bit. I had never had that happen before. These two mountains pushed me to near exhaustion. There were times when I did not think I would succeed. There were also times when my feet did not touch the ground for many minutes due to the massive blowdown.
