Afzal ...

My eyes are very happy to see this colourful rock. Have you ever tried to identify its composition? My first impression or thought was it might be ... petrified wood??? (Wood that has turned to stone?) Thank you and greetings. - Larry

Re: Afzal ...

The trek beyond Askole village enters the region that Fosco Marani described as the "greatest Museum of Shapes and Forms." The trek crosses the erratically over the terminal moraine of the Biafo glacier where it meets the Braldu valley. About 8 km after Askole the trek crosses the tounge of the Biafo Glacier, which look like waves of ice and "gives the impression of a great storm-tossed sea, suddenly immobilised." Another 4 km ahead trek reach Korofong camp site, beyond which the trek follows up the Dumordo River for a short way and reaches to Bardumal. Thank you very much for your nice words and vote to my image.
Best regards, Afzal
