Clyde Couloir in July 2017 (2)

The bottom portion of the Clyde Couloir has collapsed, as seen here from below on the Palisades Glacier. There is now a 50 foot serac at the base of the couloir (seen on this picture). It is now impossible to rejoin the Starlight Buttress route from Clyde Couloir. Instead, one has to climb steep 5.7-5.8 rock from the toe of the buttress. The top of the couloir is also entirely dry.
