Simple hike from Berthoud Pass - then added Mount Flora
#3: 3/31/19 With Rachael from Berthoud Pass, also climbed Flora. Nice calm, sunny early spring day.
#4: 1/16/22 Solo, Also climbed Flora and Eva. Windy sunny winter day on the Divide.
I know this is supposed to be an easy hike, but for a Florida girl, it was challenging. There are some steep grades, lots of wind, and not nearly as much oxygen as I'd like. The view from the top was so worth it! Now I want to do more.
First peak of the day
Nice day with a late start
Beautiful spring day with lots of snow all around. Nice hike right up the side on top of the snow.
Bitter cold, but fun hike up the power lines.
Didn't have a ton of time so this fit the bill nicely. Great views minus all of the radio/ weather facilities.
Skinned up from Berthoud Pass, very windy above the tree line, snow wind blown at the summit, so skiing down the upper section of the mountain not so great. One of the coldest backcountry ski days I had! I followed the old ski lift to the summit to orient myself - it got so windy that I had no visibility at some points, so was following the posts of the old lift. Sometimes had to kneel down to keep myself secured from wind gusts.
Nice little cabin + restrooms at the top of the pass to get our boots ready etc. Wished for a nicer weather. Gentle slopes. Felt safe even when going alone (hard to avalanche on that mellow terrain).
Easy access to this peak from Berthoud Pass.
With rkymtn from Berthoud Pass- then over to Mt. Flora.
Hit mines, flora, Eva, parry, & Bancroft.
Nice hike. Clear sunny day and very low avy danger.
Hiked this along with Witter, Breckenridge and Flora. Windy and cold but had all the peaks to myself. Good Day.
I was at a conference in Winter Park and after that, I woke up very early and hiked Colorado Mines Peak, Flora, Eva, Parry and Bancroft. What a lovely September day!
Because it was in the way to get Flora
Because it's there.
Started the day with some 12ers off of Loveland Pass, finished the day with Colorado Mines Peak and Mt. Flora from Berthoud Pass. Followed the powerlines to the summit.
