Common Stinkhorn

Common Stinkhorn

The Common Stinkhorn (Phallus impudicus) is an inedible mushroom with an unpleasant odor and bitter taste. Its tip has a spore-laden slime which attracts flies. Flies then carry the spores away. After the slime has been carried away by the insects these mushrooms may resemble yellow morrels (Morchella species). The Low Beskid - Zabia Gora - Rymanow Zdroj - October 1, 2008.
