Confusion at 9400 feet !

"There must be some kinda way out of here .." Said the joker to the thief. "There's too much confusion; I can't get no relief ..." I found these fancy blooms on an east-facing (well-drained) slope in Utah's Stansbury Mountains at approximately 9,400', immediately NE of Deseret Peak. Penstemons or Pansies, or perhaps PRIMROSE ??? Can ya help a poor boy (from Arizona) out, PLEASE ??? July 23, 2011 :- )

HINT ..

If you look really closely at these flowers,
they have white hairs growing on them.

Re: HINT ..

Thanks, I can really dig that.

Ummm, NOT the flowers, but your answer.

A reasonable person would have discovered
how much these blooms resemble little monkeys.

Anybody else ?

Re: Monkey Flower

Thanks .... they really leap out at me
when I was hiking to South Willow Lake two
summers ago ... yes, they were growing
right next to a swiftly running stream !
