Wow!
The convict basin is quite a hidden gem. It's true the rock features and colors are amazing. Hiked up to Mt Baldwin from the Bright Dot lake drainage and descended via Mildred lake.

Great views!
Great hike with fantastic views from start to finish. Went a couple of miles past Mildred Lake and started up a use trail to Mt. Baldwin. Within minutes it started hailing hard. Started back then. Will do again next year.

Fantastic scenery
Hiked from Convict Lake to Mildred Lake. Gorgeous fall day with beautiful tree foliage. Fantastic and unique geological formations. The stream crossing was not a problem, though one still had to be very careful. Snow level started shortly after Mildred Lake.
beautiful colors and patterns in the rocks, a unique spot in the eastern sierra

Convict Canyon
I hiked the entire canyon in 3 days. It was a rough trail, with some real good elevation gains. We had Lake Dorothy all to our selves.
