Re: ?

It's the alps, man... if you aren't on skis you aren't getting anywhere in the Winter or Spring. Everybody approaches ice climbs on skis as the only practical way to get around in the high mountains.

I think it's a relevent route because as well people visiting the Aiguille du Midi can get some background on what else is going on in the mountain. Besides which, many of the folks here to climb as I said are already on skis and would typically spend a day or two "off climbing" to get some turns.

Having said that, I can remove the route if that's what people want. Although there is a category called "ski route" and that's what I put this one under so I suspect at least some people agree with me. :-)

Re: ?

Sort of the point of SummitPost is to post info, about routes, Summits, etc. Googling "cosmiques couloir" gets you 17,300 hits so it's not like I'm spilling the beans on some super secret pow stash here...

Glad to hear you hit it up many years ago - must have been a lot more adventure back then!

Leave it.

Good beta. Anyone climbing in Cham and a good enough skier, many aren't, will want to at least take a look. Nice write up on the beta FWIW. Not a ski I would want underestimate. But in good conditions not one to be missed either.
