Cow Cave from W Side of Fort Rock

The small feature in the middle distance is called Cow Cave Rock, (or Butte) and, I am told. is the actual location of Ft. Rock Cave, one of the oldest archaeological sites in the West. No public access to the site, but this dramatic viewpoint can be reached by an obvious path that is roughly NW from the point where you "enter the crater" from the picnic area. The path is light colored and looks to be straight and vertical from a distance. Easy walk up.
