Crossing creek near San Juan Hill...

FZTE and Gimpilator cross a creek tributary located southeast of San Juan Hill, in Wild Sky Wilderness. After realizing they were encountering potentially difficult terrain ahead of them, FZTE, Gimpilator, and EastKing (not shown in this photo) rejoined my ascent route on the correct (north) side of the stream. Shortly after they crossed over this stream, it was decided to head towards a safer goal of attaining the San Juan Hill summit rather than attempt other nearby peaks where crossing this stream and rough terrain might be required. Photo taken on January 23, 2010.

Great Shot

It sure looks steeper from this side of the creek. One correction though, this was just before I suggested San Juan Hill as an alternative. Originally we were on the far side of the creek because we were heading for El Capitan and the pass south of San Juan Hill.
