Crossing Karaugom Iceshield

Burdzhula Peak (4450 m) towers behind at the Western-most corner of Karaugom Iceshield Plateau. Far to Burdzhula's left, one can see how the Main Divide drops under the sufrace of the iceshield plateau. That's where the plateau overflows to Racha Valley by Bokos Glacier, allowing a relatively easy access to the vast expanse of Karaugom from the South. September 1985
