Crux on Cerro Toco North face

The logical exit from the North face of Cerro Toco to the summit ridge was covered by a very thin layer of snow and heavy hard ice underneat so we decided to avoid the ice and take a mixed snow and rock colouir some 20 yards to the right of the col. Here is a shot of the floor in front of my face while I am standing. It is a mixed rock and snow segment of about 10 ft and 75 degree incline.
