Great adventure!

I am impressed by the 13 hour round trip in these conditions, especially by your father's performance. I've done the Mountaineer's route many times in the same conditions. I usually stick to the rocks to the right of the gully. After the notch I found it much safer to climb up and down on the rocks on the right side.

Thank you. Afterwards I figured out where the alternate route is. Instead of going up the gully to the left you can traverse straight across the slope and meet the ridge a bit lower down.
