Dance on a Volcano!

Dance on a Volcano!

Tell me the truth! Wouldn't you rather dance on a volcano? Squaw Peak, an ancient volcano making up the "geographic center" of Arizona, rises 3,500 feet above the Verde River. During a previous eruption, a fiery mass of molten lava from the volcano temporarily blocked the Verde River, forming a lake 20 miles long and 13 miles wide. Nowadays, the Verde River is famous for Netleaf Hackberry, Desert Willow, Fremont Cottonwood, Velvet Ash and Arizona Sycamore growing along its banks. November 7, 2009
