Dark Mullein

Dark Mullein

Dark Mullein (Verbascum nigrum) grows at lower sections (up to 1500 meters) of mountains, usually at the edges of forests. In Poland it blooms from May to September. This plant has medicinal properties. An infusion of fresh or dried flowers in olive oil can be used to treat earaches, sores and wounds. I took this photo near Hoczewka Creek in the Bieszczady Mountains. July 2007
