DATE AND TIME: 042006, 0820; LOCATION: From along Forest Road 1950 in Valle Vidal, about six miles SE of Comanche Point and four miles west of Shuree Ponds; CAMERA: Olympus SP-500 Ultra Zoom, 6 megapixel, 10x optical, 5x digital; DESCRIPTION: A snowy "4/20" view of the Wheeler Peak group, minus the actual summit of Wheeler Peak. As is the case from Bobcat Pass, Red River Pass and the road from Red River to upper Red River (NM-578), neighboring sub-peak Mt. Walter hides the actual summit of Wheeler Peak. Click here for peak identification and a closer view. There was A LOT MORE SNOW in Valle Vidal in April of last year (2005) than there was this April (2006).
