Throop troop
Throop was an easy hit this afternoon, followed by Hawkins and Middle Hawkins. Nice area, even nicer day, and only a smattering of people (the parking lot at Vincent Gap was overflowing...)

Dawson Saddle to Throop Peak
Beautiful part of the San Gabriel mountains, with great views in all directions -- east to Baden Powell, southeast to Baldy, south to Hawkins, southwest to Islip, Waterman, Twins Peak, and Wilson, northwest to to Williamson, and north to Mojave Desert and mountains in the distant haze. The views of Baldy were especially spectacular.
Starting at Dawson Saddle, did Mt. Lewis, then Throop. We went on to pick off Mt. Hawkins, the peak at 7,499' on Copter Ridge, Middle Hawkins and Mt. Islip.

First timeI really like the Dawson Saddle area. Did Lewis and Burnham too. I wish the road would open again.
