Deep drifts on the Guadalupe Peak Trail

The deepest snow on the route was from 8300' to 8500'; wind blowing up & over the Western Escarpment loaded the SE slope of Guadalupe with up to 3.5' of snow. I stuck mostly to the downhill edge of the trail to minimize the snow depth, but still sunk in to my waist at a few places.
