Is this Monument Valley in the Desert Southwest?  No, it’s Seattle at the beginning of the 20th Century during the Denny Regrade.

Seattle leveled one of the major hills in the city in a massive regrading project that lasted decades.  Amazon.com’s headquarters is in the Denny Triangle, which was once Denny Hill.
