Absolutely, I will try to add the verbiage before then so you have something to read beforehand! There were indeed a lot of hornets up on Hough so I didn't spend more than a few minutes there.
Excellent trip report! I wish there were more like this. I've been thinking about doing this route myself in the next few weeks sometime and it's very nice to have a rough idea of how long it might take me and the trail conditions. I'm even more pumped about the idea now after reading this and seeing the photos. Thanks.
Thank you for this trip report, it answers so many questions I've had about these trails! I have one question I'm still not sure of, but maybe you can help? We're thinking of parking at Elk Lake next week and climbing Macomb, to South Dix to Hough. Is there a trail down Hough that leads back to the Elk Lake lot or should we back track and head out the way we came? Any info would be helpful as we have only done East Dix from route 73 and are completely unfamiliar with the trails from Elk Lake. Looking forward to finishing up the Dix Range, but we're doing Dix on it's own next month. Thanks!!
