This was a decent start to the year, and was better than doing Mount Si in my opinion.
Nice social, suprisingly good views, good times.
In the snow but the very summit was dry...took a short nap. Pictures and map at http://www.willhiteweb.com/washington_climbing/dixie_peak/mount_si_natural_area_104.htm
To be among the few people to summit Dixie Peak thus far this winter, which was obvious given the lack of ANY past footprints or trails to the mountain, was a great feeling for each of us. The views from each summit were spectacular, but especially from the false summit. The wind was blowing 45+ MPH, and there were some steep snowy slopes, so we did not linger long in the exposed summit areas. Highly recommended (winter) summit climb.
Did this summit along with Teneriffe with Redwic. Went up Suthwest Ridge and down the Fire Road. The summit of Dixie has good view but the northern subsummit has even better views.
