Does anyone know this flower?

It grew on the banks of the Feevispa, just south of Saas Grund. It didn't look out of place, but it might not even be indigenous as there are people are living nearby. Click here for another photo of the same flower. 12 July 2014.

Re: Clustered bellflower

I think you're right!

Earlier, looking at my two photos of this flower, I was mistakenly thinking that there was just one flower at the top of a long stem, with a bunch of deep purple petals and a lot of sepals. But after comparing it with other pictures of Campanula glomerata I now see that there are already several deep purple flowers, and most of what I thought were sepals are in fact buds almost ready to open up!

Thanks for helping out,
Cheers, Rob
