yeah, I know of your route finding blunder, it was actually your (or your buddy's) trip report that kept us from doing the same!

Sounds like you went too far left. I stayed right (A friend had made the same mistake as you) and found easy ground. Way to hang in there and finish, most people would have tried to bail, which I think is more dangerous on this route. Always Fail upwards if at all possible.
