Parking Lot  Sucess!

I hiked some of the other areas of Pine Mountain which included the high points of Talbot and Meriwether counties. But, there were no views until I arrived at Dowdell Knob. The park seemed almost empty, although I was there in the middle of the week.

Extending the Trail  Sucess!

To extend the route from Dowdell's Knob into a longer hike and make a bivouac over night, I skipped the loop to continue on to the east to the Wolfden Loop towards the Radio Tower. Wolfden Loop is a more scenic and easier portion of the trail than Dowdell's Knob with a few less hikers on certain parts. I spent the night at Bumble Bee Ridge Campsite before returning to my car at Dowdell's Knob.

A nice walk in the woods  Sucess!

My cousin and I did a nice little 4 mile loop here.

Trail  Sucess!

There are some hiking trails around and on Dowdell's Knob. The Pine Mountain Trail is probably the best known. You can hike from a relatively low point to the summit.

Route climbed: Parked in the parking lot  Sucess!

An easy hike. Sadly, the parking lot drops you off right at the summit.
