Great Day
Fantastic day in the mountains. Scenic approach, fun ridge scramble, interesting summit block. Plus good weather and great company. Trip Report

Impressive.
Took a couple days to climb Goat and then Duncan. The peak is great, but the valley is phenomenal. One of the prettiest in the Pioneers, and that is really saying something!

Great Summit!
This hike had it all. A fun approach bike ride in, scenic off trail hiking and some good class 3 scrambling with a little route finding to get to the summit.

Snow climb
With this year's snowpack this was probably akin to an early May ascent. From the south basin we took the straightest path possible to the summit. Easy as pie. Climbed the summit block on the east side because that scrambling looked more fun. The snow was so perfect that we slid down the entire mountain like kids on a waterslide. A perfect outing!

Good rock
The ramps up to the summit were fun. Not much loose rock, one of the reasons the Pioneers are so much fun. Weather wasn't great but good company. I recommend this peak highly

Awesome Day
I was originally going to do Thompson but had to back down because of a forest fire. Rob and I combined with Splattski, Boisedoc, Alex and Steve to do this peak. The day started cloudy and cold but cleared off soon after we'd left the summit. We took a different route home and had a wonderful adventure. We also saw a goat near the saddle.
The narrow glaciated valley between Hyndman and Duncan is a lesson in alpine geography. A blustery summit blew us all the way back down to the location of present day Pioneer yurt, the place I call Dry Lake.

This is a long day but well worth it. The valley in between Duncan Ridge and Hyndman is incredible.
The Wildhorse Fire was just starting up for the day as I crested the ridgeline. It was incredible to watch the helicopters take water from lakes below me and go drop it on the fire a 1/2 mile away. Not something you see everyday.
