Early winter morning on the Untersberg plateau

Panorama towards the south over the near-to-arctic Untersberg plateau on February 15th, 2010, during a fantastic period of inversion weather from the Salzburger Hochthron (1853m) on the Untersberg. The peaks in view behind the Untersberg, from left to right, are: Hochkönig (2941m), Watzmannfrau (2307m), Grosser Watzmann (2713m), Grosser Hundstod (2593m), Berchtesgadener Hochthron (highest point of the Untersberg bulk, 1972m), Hochkalter (2607m), Leoganger Steinberge group, Kitzbühl Alps, Loferer Steinberge group, Wilder Kaiser. This image is not a re-post; I haven't ever posted this one yet. Opening to full size is recommended!

Thanks a lot, Chad! Yes, it really is gorgeous...when it doesn't rain, pour and drizzle with temperatures no higher than 50 degrees Fahrenheit non-stop, as it's been doing the whole of May and even now, beginning of June. Those spring mountain photos I was looking so much forward to taking might have to wait again a year, who knows...
