21 of 21 Utah 13ers Accomplished!!  Sucess!

I climbed my first Utah 13er (namely Kings Peak) on September 2, 2006. My second one (Gilbert Peak) I climbed on July 25, 2008, along with #3 Gunsight Peak. July 26, 2008, I did West Gunsight Peak, Henrys Fork Peak, and Kings Peak (again). Over three years later on Sept 4, 2011, I once again climbed Kings Peak and made my way to my sixth13er (namely South Kings) followed by #7 Peak 13,306 (2nd Gemini) and #8 Peak 13,387 (1st Gemini aka "Painter Peak") the same day. After a five year pause on August 15, 2016 I bagged Trail Rider Peak (aka Ramp Peak), Roberts Peak (aka Pyramid Peak), North Emmons (aka Pinnacle Peak), South Emmons (aka Glacier Peak) and Mt Emmons bringing my Utah 13er total to 13 of 21.

In 2016 I attempted Tokewanna Peak but weather turned us around a few hundred vertical feet shy of the summit. Three years later on August 17, 2019, I reach the summit of Tokewanna Peak bringing my 13er total to 14 of 21.

Mount Powell (13,159 ft) became #15 on August 27, 2022. Followed by Wilson Peak (13,055 ft) on September 9, 2023 and Cliff Point on September 23, 2003.

July 19, 2024, I brought my 13er total to 19 of 21 by reaching Wasatch and NW Wasatch (Wapiti).

July 20, 2024, the goal of climbing all 21 peaks in Utah with elevations over 13,000 feet was completed when I reach Lovenia followed by Quandary Peak (aka East Lovenia).

Steep  Sucess!

That scree field actually wasn't so bad, it felt a lot grippier than some of the other stuff I've done. Didn't see anyone else the entire day either.

A ton of smoke rolled in during the afternoon, kinda obscured the views. Although I have no idea where the fire was, inciweb shows nothing major for hundreds of miles

Tough One  Sucess!

Climbed from west and then up north ridge. Had to travel on east and west side to negotiate cliff bands. We were going to climb over to Lovenia, but a Tstorm forced us to bail along the connecting ridge down a very loose, scree hill. There was an unopened can of Milwaukee's Best at the summit, but nothing else

Lovenia Loop route  Sucess!

Pretty much followed ZeeJay's description and made it in spite of the first dusting of snow delivered by Mother Nature during the night (and at our East Fork Blacks Fork CG)! With Dave, Brent and JP Lewis. Hundreds of sheep at the base of this mountain. Spectacular weather considering the snow during the night; we had a bluebird day, for the most part.

Long Day  Sucess!

Starting at East Fork TH in July 2004, I hiked up East Lovenia and then Lovenia in a day. These peaks were my 2nd and 3rd Utah 13ers (after Kings). It was a long day due to marshy trail, tough river crossings, and lots of uneven terrain.

Interesting peak  Sucess!

My second to last Utah 13000 footer. Did this one and Lovenia in a day, starting at the East Fork Blacks Fork TH. Left the trail about 10800' and took off for the base of the peak. Climbed the NW face to the saddle west of the peak and then ascended the west ridge to the summit. The NW face looks steep, but it can't be that bad because I saw several domestic sheep quite high up.

East Lovenia

I climbed via the NW face and came down Lovenia connecting ridge. This is almost certainly the hardest 13er in Utah, but not as hard as some of the 12ers. Loose scree is hardest part.

East Lovenia is a pretty seldom visited summit.
